Edward Norman (bishop)
Sir Edward Kinsella Norman (14 September 1916 – 8 March 1987) was a New Zealand Anglican bishop.
==Biography==
Norman was born in Napier in 1916.〔(Cenotaph Details )〕 His theological education at Auckland University (then still Auckland College of the University of New Zealand) was interrupted by the Second World War.〔〔“Who was Who” 1897-2007 London, A & C Black, 2007 ISBN 978-0-19-954087-7〕 He was awarded the Military Cross personally by General Freyberg in the Volturno Valley, Italy on 12 January 1944.〔(General Freyberg congratulating Lieutenant Colonel E K Norman on being awarded the Military Cross ). In 1948 Norman was ordained and was a curate in Berwick-on-Tweed; he later became vicar of Waiwhetu. After further incumbencies at Levin, Tauranga and Karori he became Archdeacon of Wellington in 1969〔''Crockford's Clerical Directory 1975-76'' London: Oxford University Press, 1976 ISBN 0-19-200008-X〕 and the diocesan bishop in 1973.
